|
|
Hi gang.
I'm having two issues with a 1292. The first issue is a dim blue tube. I have tried to reseat the ribbon cable, but it did not help. On the pluge pattern i cant see the squares even on the tube face when running the value to max. Red and green is fine here.
The othrer issue is sync. The pj is really slow to sync on to a signal. I have used a baro which would lock the signal every time. But the sony takes forever and in 1/3 of the cases the image is just garble.
Any ideas? Throw the hovercraft in the thrash?
Cheers
Kjell.

You most likely have a bad tube or a bad video output board.
What sources are you using? Your sync description doesn't give enough detail..

Im using a moome ext v2 box. Mediaplayer connected to a Yamha Z7 amp. HDMI all the way. have tried several resulotions without any luck. I have mailed Moome about the sync issue, as the problm seem to be related to the moome box not locking into the hdmi signal any more. the leds on the box just keep blinking as there are no signals.
I tried to play with the pluge patteren yesterday. Blanking red and green so the picture is only blue, the picture does not change even with 100% brightness, adjusting the bias/gain/brightness only affected the "white" part of the image.
The tubes in this machine has only run 700 hours and looks like new

Have a look at the ribbon cable and also the white connectors that plug into the neck board. Also make sure the board is plugged onto the tube properly. They do come loose and then brightness issues can happen.

Thanks for the tips.
I have swapped the ribbon cable with the green one and checked that plugs and that the board is securely in place on the tube neck. No change unfortunately
I cant even get the blue raster to show. brightness at max makes the green and red show very well, but the blue is dark even with brightness at 100%
Tried enabling/disabling the akb, no change. Contrast works very well but the blue tube is dim compared to the others of course due to the brightness issue. It seems the blue is not getting enough current or the "driver" is set to low?.
I'm really at a lost point here

Why not swap the G and B tube locations? It's not hard to do, maybe an hour tops, then at least you'll know if it's the tube or the chassis.

I've had the same troubles with a dim blue tube, in my case it was the tube itself with >2000 hours on it.
Reinier came over to measure and 'regenerate' the tube with his equipment but it didn't work out.
Then I bought a set of almost new tubes and since then blue is ok.
My tube looked the same as yours, the test raster and all video sources were dim.

The picture is not bad, but the colors are off. I have a bg808s with new tubes and hd144 lenses that i have used prior to installing the sony. I give up on the sony and im taking it down. ~650 hours on the sony tubes

If you decide to part out the Sony I would be interested in the tubes.
