|
|
Just received a replacement red tube for my Runco 943. I swapped out the broken tube and made sure everything was hooked back up. Now I am getting no light from the red tube, and no red led's on front either( blue and green are working).
I am not sure if i overlooked something or what the next step might be in troubleshooting the issue. If anyone has any idea let me know, thanks.

Yes, it could be that the red CRT socket/video amp got nuked when the tube imploded, but most likely one of the pins is bent on the long white connector that plugs into the bottom board. The back pin under the tubes is REALLY easy to bend when you take that connector off, then it bends right over when you plug it back in.
Take the white connector off, check to see if the pins are straight, straighten if not, and plug the connector back in.
If not, then swap the R and G CRT sockets and see if the green goes dead. I've got those sockets.. cheeeep! (like $10 plus shipping)

i checked the socket looks like none of the pins are bent, tried to power it up still no red light.
One thing i did notice is that after about 3 min of running the red socket seems to be warm to the touch(metal bracket around it) when b/g sockets are both cool. could it be shorted?
thanks

It could be. Check to make sure none of the pins on the tube are bent, and then swap the sockets between the tubes.
