Hi All,

I have a Cine 8 and it able to power up. Warm up for 30 minutes the Menu still very blur. Unable to focus.

Replace the focus board from another PJ and it still cannot focus.

May I know beside the focus board is there any other board I must change.

Thanks.

BTW after 30 mins warm up can read the text but not sharp. However once I try to change to next page it turn blur again. All 3 colour having the same problem.

Any help appreciate. BTW where can I get the schematic drawing?

cheers

We do not give out schematics of the higher end sets, sorry! The problem areas could be the SMPS, focus board or HV related.

If the focus is evenly out of focus across all three tubes, I would suspect that your HV is too high or too low.

This can be the quad, the EHT board or the splitter. You can't really test any of the parts short of swapping them out with known working ones. I can test them for you in a working set if you want.

DO NOT touch the trimpots on the board, you can blow up tubes. THe HV section is preset and pre calibrated. If the HV is off, there's a problem other than adjusting the pots. Trust me, I learned the hard way.... twice! Smile

Hi Curt,

Thanks, so what's my options now?

Should I change the board and send it to you to repair? If send to you which board should I send?

Thanks

Send me the quadrupler and EHT board. I'll test them here. If they are OK, I"ll send a HV splitter back. It can be any of those three parts, there's no way to narrow it down.

Shooot me an email to curtpalme@shaw.ca and I'll tell you how to send them in.
