I am interested in buying a low hour G70 to have as a backup (or upgrade) to my current 9PGX. I love the NEC, but have the opportunity to get the G70 for a song. What specifically should I look at on the Sony prior to purchase- any opinions are also appreciated on the whole idea...

Pull the lenses and check the tubes. G70's tend to burn through greens pretty fast, blues a little less so.
The memory model in a G70 might bend your brain. Sony owners seem OK with it, but after using an XG and an 8500 I thought it was really messed up. Geometry controls are great, though, and you can dial it in razor sharp!
