Hi guys

Last night upon returning home I tried to watch a move on my Barco Cine 7. Well unit came online fine with cricket sounds and fans working, but there is no picture being projected. I locked at led's on top of the unit and this is what i have.

Power on with standby Led on. Pushing on button on remote and unit comes alive with:

Coinc Led - On Orange
Hold Down HD Led - Off
SF Led - On
Hold Down EHT Led - Off
Standby Led - Off
The rest of the green Led's are On where HTHD green Led is not as bright as the rest.

I am relatively new to this unit and have no experience using it. From what i get from the manual is that you have to select a source via remote and then picture will come up on the wall. No I have it connected to dvd player via s-video and to blue ray player via RBG connection.

Also looking down the lenses it seems that there is a glow but I have no reference point to say it for sure..

Can some one shed some light on what could be the problem.

(Also, does the unit still have to project it's setting menu, even if there is nothing connected to it?)

Any help will be appreciated.
Thank you

The SF light means 'scan fail', so your H or V deflection is not working. There are two LEDs on the center deflection board, is the top or the middle one lit? Chances are the deflection board is bad, I have spares if you need it.

Hello I know this is an old listing but I have exactly the same issue with a Cine 7

Looking at the led on the board mentioned by Curt it’s the top led which is red

Does that give a clue?

Thanks

Bas

What do you mean by the 'top' LED? There is a row of LED lights over/under the green lens. Are the red ones off and all the green ones on?

Wow, thanks for the quick reply !!

Top led on the central deflection board, this is as I have the projector on the workbench and the chassis open

I do have another Cine 7 (not complete) but have swapped the central deflection board and same result

Thx

OK, that's the H output section of the deflection board:

If I remember correctly, the signal for the H deflection comes from the RGB input board. Since you already changed the deflection board, then it's likely that the RGB input board has gone bad. Do you have a spare?

Swapped the complete tray to no effect same symptom

Used the original tray with only swapping the RGB input board to same effect

Anything else I can try?

Thx

Hmmm. That's unexpected. Smile So all the green LEDs over/under the green lens are on, and all the red ones are off?

If you mean the diagnostic leds we still have

Power on with standby Led on. Pushing on button on remote and unit comes alive with:

Coinc Led - On Orange
Hold Down HD Led - Off
SF Led - On
Hold Down EHT Led - Off
Standby Led - Off
The rest of the green Led's are On
And the hthd led is on but goes off after 10 seconds

There is neck glow in all three tubes

After the hthd led goes off the unit pulses or thicks every 10 sec (no change in leds)

OK, this will be tough to troubleshoot without a tech that knows these units. We've swapped out the two most common problems, so now it's down to something unusual. You might try changing the power supply, but if not, it needs a tech with a 'scope to work on it.
