I have service manuals for almost all the 10XX series Sonys but not these 2, should all be in one manual cause they are both almost the same projector, the difference being the 1001 has comp and s-video, where as the 1044 has comp, s-video and RGB-HV. That is pretty much the ONLY difference between the 2 that i have ever been able to tell.
What im hoping to find is the differences between the boards where the RGB is on the 1044, and where its not on the 1001, so i can attemp to add it to the 1001 i have here.
Would be handy to have the RGB connection, cause i have a fair few old video game consoles that all put out RGB, and the picture quality difference between s-video and RGB is fricken huge.
Thanks

I still have a PDF copy of the vph-1000QM manual that I bought four years ago, Im happy to send you a copy. Its almost identical to the 1001QM, main difference that I know of was different tubes.

Hey mate how are ya? I have that service manual, but those 2 projectors are quite abit different in some ways. The 1001 has abit more digital to it, almost everything is onscreen menu, even the static convergence.
For the amount id pay to do this work i may as well buy that bloody 1271 off ya!! HAHAHA!!

I do have a 1001, it came with a pair of thin manuals, not sure if one is a service one, but I think we're just talking owner and installation manual, not the service one.

If its the service manual, it will be full of circuit diagrams, and also pictures of the boards.
