hi, when replacing the battery does it matter if the new battery is not encapsulated.

I can get some within a week, by the time postage to me is added, you're looking at about $12 each.

I opened up the spent battery and used a CR2325 I think just look for one of the same size lithium after you open it up. Then o soldered it on really quick cause you dont want to explode it. Wink

Works fine.

it is a cr2032 cell inside the encapsulation, this is from the renata datasheet but even that cell without encapsulation isn`t available anymore.
this is a 235mah and the closest farnell supplies is 300 mah, so a bit more capacity and close to the same size.

You seriously are arguing over the $12 cost of a battery? I knew we were all really cheap on this forum, but that takes the cake! Smile

if it were for me i would have said send it right away.

i cannot say ok gimme some without consulting my friend first.

it is just that i have to setup his pj and if it keeps loosing the settings every time its been switched off, it gets frustrating Smile.
so i want this resolved quickly.

I personally would not be comfortable with an exposed battery on a hard to find $2000 CLM, but that's just me...if it leaks, the board is shot.

just find another CR battery with the same voltage.

I did it cause i needed to fix it right then and there till i got the right battery's from Tim, but its still in there
working so.....

if your doing the CLM mod remember not to add tants to those two chips fed by the battery or it will drain them down.

http://www.farnell.com/datasheets/32799.pdf

these seem to have the same pinout as the ones used in the marquee.

mike or tse? any comments on why this would work or not work.

i have taken 2 known good chips and placed them on the clm that lost its settings.

as you can see in my post above that solved the problem.

but now i have a clm lying around with 2 missing sram chips.
