Does anyone know if the "line fix" and "eliminate ringing in test patterns" apply's to the rare 50-2035-03P VIM?
I know the "dot fix" doesn't but not sure about these 2? Confused

Also, does anyone know if the "eliminate ringing in test patterns" does anything to better ilsolate the internally generated video circuit from the external video?

it certainly works on my modified 02p vim.

the only thing different between the versions 02p and 03p are the comparators and hence the extra opamps.

as for your 2nd question, that is where the sd5401 comes into play, this is something i have to explore further.
i do not think the internal video is better isolated from the external by this tb fix.

A 50-2035-03P VIM is noisier due to it being a higher bandwidth video board compared to the 2035-02P board.

By being a higher bandwidth board, it picks up that extra noise from both the voltage rails and from data lines fed to the VIM. the AD835 (2035-02P) gain chip rolls off (suppresses) a lot of this noise, while the AD834 (2035-03P) passes it on to the neck boards.

As mentioned, the data lines carry pulse and control signals from both sweep and control board (CLM) into the VIM. The control board is the bigger problem for noise when used with a 2035-03P VIM, because the internal test pattern is connected directly into the video chain, and is enabled at all times that projector is in operation. So with that design, a few of the data lines from the control module is allowing the noise from the DAC's and digital processors on the CLM to also be dumped into the video chain.

I have a fix for this, but I'm not sure how it will work on a completely stock Marquee. The fix would greatly reduce the noise coming from the control module from getting into the VIM.

If you want to try it I could dig it up and pass it to you.

thanks for the great explanantion, generous offer too but I'm not sure how deep I want to get into the VIM. the 2035-03P are so rare I doubt many will come my way anyway.
