About the only differences between 3600 and 4600 are the tubes, chassis, and firmware in the CPU that displays 3600 or 4600 on the remote. A 3600 remote will work with a 4600.

Get the 4600 , buy the Sony for the HFury, RTC2200 and resell the Sony or keep it as a spare.
Make sure the tubes are all good. See the chart here: http://www.curtpalme.com/TubeCondition.shtm
Look in the lenses with an LED flashlight or get the owner to take a picture without flash
By the way, the 1252 will not do 1080p but the 4600 should

the sony 12xx series is electrostatic, I believe the 4600 is electromagnetic focus, much much sharper image and longer tube life. Plus isnt the 4600 the cats meow of Ampros? and a 9" at that?
12xx series is 7-8" (no one really knows) tubes, electrostatic focus, and HD-8 Lenses (and if they arent RevB lenses they will be horrible)
12xx PJ is great for no more than 720p/1080i. I have a friend who has one, we got it for a buck off ebay with the road case and went to pick it up.
If you can get the 4600... get the 4600

if you decide against the RTC2200 for yourself, i can assure you a quick sale if you just take it off his hands....
