The Ext v3 was the perfect answer to enable 3d content with my home theatre setup. Ordering it seemed like I was taking a bit of a risk, but the delivery was made within 2 weeks and it turns out it was well worth it. This unit included the latest firmware updates. Setup was virtually plug and play, no adjustments required. Here is my 3D setup:
Video: PS3 <HDMI 1.4> EXT v3 <VGA> Encore ENXTV-X3 TV Tuner <VGA> Acer X1161 3D Ready DLP Projector
Audio: PS3 <Optical> Yamaha HTR-5940 <Wired> JBL 5.1 speakers
I use ViewSonic PGD-150 DLP Link 3D glasses, and because it is DLP, no IR emitter is required. The picture quality and 3d rendering is outstanding at 720p@120hz. I use it to play 3d games and stream 3d movies from VUDU services. I have not tested playing blu-ray 3D movies yet. BTW - the ENXTV-X3 is not necessary for this setup, I just happen to use it as a video hub for other video sources as well.
