While playing portal 2 I saw a projection screen that looked like it had crt burn in:

I looked at the ceiling and saw this:

It was in the 80's section of the test facility.

Also not that I'm currently playing on a crt projector.

Looks like an NEC or older Sony 10XX.

What did it do when you shoot it? Smile

My 14-yr-old just completed Portal 2 about 2 minutes ago. It lasted him all of, what, 4 days??

Brilliant game, though...

I thought it would be fun to reply saying how I freaked out when I saw this in the game when I played it Very Happy I am 14 and I have wanted a CRT projector ever since I saw one in a Disney store when I was like 6 XD

My time will come on ebay to buy an old one soon though
But I just searched google for "crt projector in portal 2" and got here. Awesome right? Its a pleasant thought of how much actual detail goes into games now

In the movie Back to School (Rodney Dangerfield) there is a scene about 1 hr and 9 minutes into the film where you can see an ESP Aquastar IIIB projecting mostly on the back of some guys shirt and later at about 1 hr and 12 minutes there is a good side view of the projector sitting on a small table. That movie was made in like 1984. Pretty good chance that I tested the video board in it.

That old TV show 'Girls Next Door' that had the Playboy whores on it... Hef had a Panasonic PT101Y from about 1987 under his bed, projecting onto a curved screen. Considering that the show was taped in about 2007 or so, I was really surprised to see that Hef hadn't upgraded. THen again, with wrinkly old junk, there's probably quite a bit that he didn't update. In the movie snow flower and the secrete Fan there is a scene where is shot in a art gallery and one of the exhibits uses a CRT I can not identify because they only show it very shortly from the behind side angle. I took a screen shot of the grid pattern.

That looks very much like an old Barco 600 test grid... could be from a Lumagen as well though.

The PJ was generic looking the old white beige case and looked more like an old Sony or Panasonic. I'll try to take a shot of the little bit they show later tonight.
