Nope, the housing is wrong and the PT18 dictates that this is an 8" tube. A 9" tube would be a PT22

In the meantime I found some information about this tube. It was mounted on a retroblock 808. I will pull from that LC housing and put in another LC housing with the scheimpflug adjustment.

A man who has a BG808 (20k in the set) asked me to retube his machine... (I never saw a Barco ) But we found a source for a good set of PT18-244 tubes with lenses. Can I swap simply the housings (in meantime AC->LC) or would need tinkering? The pinout is compatible with the 180's?

I think that PT18-244's is a native LC tubes, so they have LC chambers and c-elements.
The pinout could be compatible with 180dvb's tubes.
If you want to mount LC barco's tube in the BG808 you must make adapters like these ....
(look adapters only)[/img]

Did you do these adapters? Are the dimensions of it top secret?
What do you mean on they are native LC tubes, should I transplant these tubes into the 180dvb-s housings if I don't want to tinker with adapters?

A my friend did adapters for me. I must seek plans with dimensions. The Green adapters are different because blue and red are overlapped on the green as you can see in the pictures.

Yes ... if your tubes are LC you must do adapters or transplant in AC housings (without adapters of course).

I don't know 1208, but the 808 uses almost the same pinout as marquees(can be found easily), the difference is that G2 is connected to pin 6 on barco-s

I removed the tube from his 8" LC housing (without scheimpflug).
Soon I'll put in the new housing (with scheimpflug).
For crt fans: be careful when you insert the tubes into the housings because there are very little spacers that hold the tube in place (correct distance between tube surface and c-element).
In the pictures you can see these spacers (two types).

As a bonus I believe the PT-18s are the higher resolution 8" tubes like the P16LNP/LNQ, etc. If the ceramic insulators on the gun are white/white then they it is a higher res tube from what I understand. Makes a huge difference for Hi-Def. The P16s which I put in a Data 808s from an Ampro retro were the single biggest improvement I made to my 808s when I had it .

I have only green PT18-244.
I have a complete set of P16LNP also.
In your opinion what's the best?

I have seen both PT18s (which were stock in the 1208s/2 series) and P16LNQs (which I believe are the same as LNPs but with different hardware for an Ampro retro) and they seem to perform the same to me at least within the limitations of what I could resolve with HD8s and my CRT setup (dis)abilities (both were better than the 180DVBs). If they are both white/white ceramic insulators vs. the pale yellow of the 180DVBs then they are high res tubes and I would just go for which ever tube was better condition-wise.

i think the pt18 is with fast decaying phosphoresense like the pt22 9 inch version.
if you want 3d in the future i would go with the pt18 tube.
