Anyone know how I can play back OTA recorded Hi-Def TV shows recorded on my Win7 HTPC (.wtv), without losing any video or audio quality?
I know I can use the HTPC for this, but I don't want to. I want an external hardware player to play them back by streaming the files over my ethernet based home network.
I bought a DLNA Blu-Ray player to do this, only to discover there are no Blu-Ray players that can do this without the file being transcoded and losing image quality.
arghh.

I think Xbox 360 is about the only option for .wtv files.
Otherwise...convert to dvr-ms...disappointing for sure.

Wow. That sucks.
Do you know of anyone running the Xbox? How is the audio & video quality when playing back .wtv files?

I use it...but not on an HDTV....or through a receiver.
The quality is great but unfortunately I can't comment much beyond that.
Do you have an Xbox360?
If you are willing to risk the RRoD you can get a first gen Xbox360 for really cheap.
