Hi folks,
got a new toy. A LumagenDVI and can't get a 1080i Out-res.

BR Player (DMP-BD30) forced to 24p. Output res 1080i.

With 480p on the Lumagen i have an image. If i'm switching to 720p/1080i the Barco won't sync.

Have someone settings for the Lumagen and the 808?

thx
Andreas

Change the sync to negative in the lumagen , I think Barcos need a negative sync setting. Also make sure your output refresh rate is not 24hz, try 48 or 60hz.

Barcos need a Negative sync, this is your problem i bet. There might be a sync switch on the HD fury, not sure as I owned one for not very long.

http://www.curtpalme.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=213364

HD fury 3 manual. Page 11 is where you'll find it. it has a pass through setting. if using the lumagen before the fury set it to pass through and use the lumagen on screen menu to set negative sync.

Guys, this is great.
I've changed the sync on the fury because i read the pins upside down Mr. Green

Anyway i got in image again but any resolution i can choose is 480p.

Found an issue with fury3. Hope ill get an EDID-Update that fix the problem.

Otherwise the Fury2 has fixed the issue by the other guy.

Allright. Heres the fix.

As i've set the VisionDVI to Sync H-V- and Scale to Pass and the Sync-Force on the Fury to OFF it worked.

Now i have 1080i@71.93hz with 24p. Grrrrreat
Now i will tweak around a bit.

thx

Esel, try 1920x800p@72 from the lumagen. use the shrink function in the Lumagen to get the correct aspect ratio. This is active area scanning and will allow the VP and PJ to not scan the unused portion of Scope movies above and below the active movie. This frees up Band width.

So, i have trouble with the settings mentioned above.
If i set aspect at 2.40 and timings and refreshrate i'll get a stuttering and flickering image.
Also at 71.93Hz the image stutters. The res says 1080i if i change it to 800 the CRT won't sync.
Chain is Panasonic DMP-BD60, Marantz SR4002, Lumagen, HD-Fury3.

Any suggestions?

Hi Andreas,

I also have those stutters when the Lumagen OSD is active. Once it is gone, everything is perfect again. That's just a cosmetic problem, and I can live with it.

Kai, can you please tell me a step by step lesson how i have to set it up.

I think i haven't done the sqeezing right.
What i've done is...

1. Set 2.40 Aspect

2. Set 96.00 Ref-Rate

3. Set your Timings

4. Then i've tried to bring the image onto the screen properly but haven't used the shrink-option.

How did i use the dhrink-option correctly?

well, my timings are not for active area scanning. They are for a 16x9 setup.

I have never played with active area scanning.

IIRC The VisionDVI will not do 1080i/96. It will do 1080i/72. The HDP will do 96.

Secondly, the video processing and the chip in the DVI is not as good as the HDP. What is your souce? With anything but 1080p/24 you are unlikely to be able to get the DVI to lock onto the film cadence and covert to 72 correctly, you will get the tearing you mention.

To feed the DVI 1080p/24 and get a good 72 out takes some more tweaking with the the DVI than the HDP. It can be done, but takes some work.

No only the Radiance + Models can do 1080p@72hz.

The Vision series caps out at 1080p 60hz.

The Vision Pro can do 800p/817p@72, 960p@72.

This is at the limit of the DVI specs. 148.5 Mhz?

Is the Fury a limiting factor here? I doubt they tested it at every res.
