|
|
I'm looking for a small all-in-one amplified CD player type thing, to use on a boat.
Ideally I want one of those mini-systems, so I can power two pairs of cheesy speakers. Ideally it will have line level output of some kind, so I can cascade another amplifier off it to power some deck speakers.
I'm kind of drawing a blank, the shelf mini-systems don't really have any line-level outputs, and generally pretty limited input options (so I can hook up a DVD player, cable box).
One other problem is the space is kind of a narrow vertical space: again will fit a shelf-system receiver thing just fine, but I'd have to throw any legit receiver vertically and it would be pretty tight I think.
Would like to stay in the few hundred dollars range.
Is there something obvious I don't know about, or am I stuck getting an HTiB system and throwing away the speakers?

Yeah, that one looks like it's got some more ins/outs.
It's just strange that there isn't more demand for something like this...? Just an all-in one CD/DVD/Receiver type thing, you'd think a lot of joe 6-packs would want something like that. I've spent too much time in the high-end of 8 thousand devices, weird now that I want an all-in-one box with flashy lights I can't even find it! *sigh*

i think i'm giving up on this idea. Such a thing does not exist. I'm just going to pull out a bose bass module and toss that overboard and throw in a real receiver and call it good.
I was standing there looking for Aiwa stuff and thinking about hunting in pawn shops and had a 'WTF am I doing?' moment

Well of course it's not available. You forgot to post that you were connecting it to a .... Bose. <snicker>
