|
|
I know there are still a few Crestron people here. I just received a 4 x 4 Matrix HDMI switch from Monoprice. It included a CD with the the RS232 program, but I don't know how to install the Matrix information onto my User Database in SIMPL.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Joel

What is the "martix information"?
If this is a SIMPL module, do you *really* want this in your user DB? -- Are you _sure_ ? If so, you can place it into \Program Files\Crestron\Simpl\Usrmacro, and any SIMPL+ in \Program Files\Crestron\Simpl\Usrsplus.
These modules should really be placed into the same path as your program, so they follow your SC.

Humm, maybe I'm not understanding how this works. For my BG 1208, I just opened the Crestron db, located the 1208 rs232 program, and placed it into the rs232 port on my CMNSXAV. I guess I was thinking the disc that came with the Matrix switch contained the communication information to place into my user db, then I could just drag and drop it into the rs232 port.
It sounds like that is not the case?

More than likely you'll need to figure out how to communicate to it (info in the manual?) and just send the strings to it over serial. I doubt something from Monoprice would have a crestron component.

tri joel,
Send me the files from that Monoprice CD and I'll write a Crestron module for you.

Don't ever do this. This is most likely a 2-way device and you'll want to process the feedback, regardless of whether or not you're ruining a 2-way panel.
Keep in mind I don't have this hardware so we might have to go back and forth a few times to get this 100%. I can do Skype or POTS, etc.
What processor are you using? I have a CNMSX AV (ST-CP generation) and AV2 at my disposal.

For something like a matrix switcher, unless you plan on switching routes on the front panel, there's typically no need to worry about processing any feedback. Not sure why you would tell people otherwise.

Did you ever get this controlled with Crestron? I would consider purchasing the 4x4 if its working under Crestron for you.

No, I have not got it working yet. I am having other issues with my control processor and finding time to work on it. I'll post an update if/when I get it working.
