Hello,
Today I was busy setting up my retubed BG1209s. All went well, until I decided to adjust the H-linearity. This is P1 on the horizontal deflection board. My screwdriver slipped and hit the subboard above (somewhere between the LED marked D12 and the voltage regulator (?) marked IC3). There was the briefest of sparks and the picture was gone. The projector kept running though.
I switched of the PJ and switched it on again. The HV came on, but still no picture
So it looks like I have fried something, but I cannot see any visible damage. Of course I hope it is just the subboard.
Is there anything I can do to troubleshoot this issue further? Could I just disconnect the subboard? Since this board uses the 17 V from the SMPS, could I have blown the 17V fuse there (assuming it exists)?
Edit: found and checked the fuses (F200 and F201) on the SMPS. I do not see any obvious cracks, so I assume they are OK. Also, I reckoned that blowing the 17V will probably cause the whole projector to shut down.
So, my current hypothesis is that I probably shorted the voltage regulator on the H-deflection sub-board.
Edit 2: On the diagnostics board the HTHD LED is off and the scan-fail is on. The 17 V leds are also on, so there is definitely no 17 V issue, but only an issue on the H-deflection board.
Thanks,
Gerbrand
