Hello,
Today I finally mounted my retubed BG1209s on the ceiling. However, when trying to switch the projector from floor projection to ceiling projection, I found that the little wire underneath the spring had disappeared. This means that the switch no longer works properly.
As a work-around I fixated the switch in what I think is the correct position using some tape. However, the projector responds with a "scan-fail" (the HV won't come on). This is the "not pressed" position. When I put the switch in the "pressed" position the projector works, but of course this is not the setting I want.
What would you suggest? Is there a way I can test that the switch is in the proper position and then fixate it? Or should I get myself a new deflection control board from Curt?

One of my 808s scan switches miss whole spring and that pin, because that plastic button have cracked.
If I remember correct, working position is bit inside from full out. I eyeballed position from good switch and it seem to work ok. I was meant to glue it or something but newer bothered since it works.

I've used the tape method as well. Many of those switch springs fail, or more correctly, fall off the end of the switch. I spent 1/2 hour once trying to put it back, and gave up. If you're not moving the projector, just use the tape. I do have spare yoke boards or can desolder a working switch if you want.

Thanks. I will try the tape method some more (just need to see where I can get some Canadian duct tape around here).
For some reason, eyeballing the correct position did not work for me though. Can I just try? Ie switch off the projector, move the switch a bit, turn it on to see if it works, repeat...
