I was wandering trough the AV section of London Drugs today and saw a DVDO Edge on display with a sale tageof $199. I asked about it and was informed that they were clearing stock and it was on sale at all of their stores. Even thoug it has limitations for a CRT setup, I thought it may be good as a switcher for the lfat panel in my living room (only 1 HDMI input). It turns out the dislpay model was the last one they had other stores showed plenty of inventory though) and they couldn't find the box or manual, end result I walked out with it for $145! Even at $199 it's a pretty good deal, so if you are in the market and live in Canada, check it out (not sure how long th sale is on for).

That is a great price for a new Edge. If I lived in CAN, then I would probably pick one up.

okay i'm a bit thick here (but then i did get concussed again two nights back), so tell me
why is the DVDO Edge limited in it's use for CRTs?

Usually we need custom timings (front-/back-porch etc.) to make picture fit/fill perfect to the raster/tube face. And Edge has no custom resolutions, just standard timings.

I didn't see it on their website last month when i called and reserved one, but the person i asked to pick it up was too busy.

I checked LD at lunch...nothing. Inventory said 2 where in stock yet the sales guy couldn't find anything. I'll check another one this weekend and see if they have one.
