Hello
Yes it can be done, it is not inexpensive. You would need: New metal plates, one is below the tubes and the tubes bolt to it, another plate goes above the tubes. And new eight inch or nine inch LC tubes in LC mounting hardware, with LC plastic covers. The 8500 yokes can be re-used. You would need HD-10-series lenses for the LC tubes. HD10-GT17s are very popular for seven or eight foot screen width. The LC tubes need more throw distance, so the projector would be farther from your screen.

Many people have done this. I've done it once and I'm almost ready to do it a second time.
However, what Tim says about throw distance is true but not always. When I converted my 8500 to a 9500LC, my screen size and
location remained the same. My throw distance remained the same. My picture size remained the same. The small difference in
throw ratio could be made up for by maximizing the raster size on the 9" CRTs. Which is what you want to do anyway.

It makes the 8500LC very different from the other marquee's.

3 Feet!!!!! Yikes!!! I dont believe it
How about a 9500LC? If its the same distance I may run into issues converting the blend to LC.

Athanasios | no it's wierd, like CJ said 8500AC and 9500LC are very close. For some reason with the smaller tube and HD10 lens the throw is much longer? It works for some people though, a firend jhere lcoally had to clear a Heating/cooling duct the the 8500LC pushed it back just far enough.

Well, it makes total sense. The 8" LC assembly has a smaller phosphor area than the 9" LC assembly. So, the picture coming through
the lens is smaller. Assuming that both assemblies use the same kind of lens, then you will see that for a given throw distance, the
picture coming from the 8" LC assembly must be smaller than the picture coming from the 9" LC assembly.
The difference between an 8" AC....AC..... assembly and a 9" LC assembly is very minor, though. It can usually be compensate for quite easily
in setup. A few points in screen width and height covers it.

thanks guys ..! You were very kind in answering me immediately ..
the shot of the lenses is not a problem, move back to the projector.
I wanted to ask is: can I use the same tubes?
in this case I'll 'need to build a new metal plate, buy 3 boxes for "LC" and 3 "HD10 GT 17" lenses
is that correct?

Trying to use the same tubes is not impossible but it's really not practical. You'd have to pull the 8" air coupled tube out of its cooling cell,
without breaking it, obtain the 8" LC assemblies, which are not common, and pot them into them.

I did that a few years ago. I had perfect 8" tubes in AC housings. It took about an hour per tube to get them out of the AC housings. Much less to get the burnt tubes out of the LC housings. I also adapted the upper and lower plates from the AC projector to hold the LC tubes. It worked perfectly.

thanks guys,
you gave me good advice.
while looking for parts to turn my "AC to LC 8500" I found a "9500LC ultra" a little money with moome card v2 installed
I just have to replace the tube because of the green is worn, but all the rest works perfectly.
I warmly thank all of you.
I send a cordial greeting
Merry Christmas.
pass it peacefully with many beautiful views.
I now need a new tube of green
