Hi,
I bought an hdfury2 fof my old philips plasma.
Everything is ok and I can watch tv from my setbox with hd 1080i
I tried also to display my imac with the help from mini displayport to hdmi but I get black screen wuthout any warning like unsupported resolution.
From the imac side hdfury2 is recognized and I tried all the resolutions without success.
If I plugged the setbox again I see a red light at the audio output(should be optical output) but if I plug the imac again I don't see the red light.
I wondered if I need the power supply for displaying imac?

I've spent a bit of time testing different Mac/HD Fury configurations, and there is something wonky between the Mac and the HD Fury 2... What if found is that it doesn't seem to matter whether you use the power supply or not, and the black screen is the typical result. I believe I've read that somebody was able to get the HD Fury 2 to work with the Mac, but I don't recall at the moment what the solution is, and I haven't been able to duplicate the success myself.

Precisely what iMac are you using, which OS X version, and what cable are you using between the iMac and the HDF2?

As for the red light, yes that's the optical output... I haven't done it, but assuming you're using a newer DisplayPort-based iMac, you should be able to assign the system audio output to the DisplayPort connector using the Audio Midi Setup Utility. I can give that a try this weekend if you'd like.

By the way, HD Fury 3 w/Snow Leopard is smooth as silk.
