Hrm.. I just found this..
https://www.curtpalme.com/forum_archived/viewtopic.php@t=24462.html
I guess I'm looking at the moome products now. So, is the ext v2 more than enough or do I really need the v3? Our TV can only do 1080i and only has component inputs. I'd like to add Gamma correction, but that will have to wait.

Hi Mark
HDfury is available worldwide, you can place your order from the manufacturer directly from HDfury.com
Moome and others will also disappear from US/CA market anytime now.

People taking big risks can still offer them in US/CA, That's what you see on this site today, but as i said earlier, it will be hard and risky to purchase from US/CA because any seller can disappear from one day to an other.

Can you please expand on this ? Why would it disappear from the US/CA and be hard to find and risky ?

No !!! keys cannot be revoked, this story have nothing to do with Keys, if you don't noticed the HDCP masterkey is out and public now, so no one can revoke anything anymore.
Our keys are legits and paid for just like any others keys from any others brand new HDMI displays.
It's only about DMCA law in US/CA who decided that Converter that does HDMI to anything else without HDCP is not legal (in their eyes).
That's why Digital to Digital is even more dangerous as stated by DLC themself.
HDfury is still available worldwide and anyone can purchase it online through HDfury.com or any others resellers/distributors, even from the US/CA until the 15dec (see monoprice or sewell), you will just have difficulties to find stock in the US/CA or to find someone offering any type of converter if they are located in US/CA, like curtpalme is still doing with moome.

It was my understanding each device with HDCP had a unique key that could be turned off at any time if deemed illegal.....

First since the HDCP masterkey is public anyone can revoke or unrevoke anything.
but the main thing is not there.
it's not each device that have his own unique key.
It's EACH IC that have it's own unique key.
So now let's take 3 production batch from an IC manufacturer, let's say they did 1 million of each IC and we use only a few hundreds of them.
How do you want them to know which ICs are in use out of million ?
the revokation scheme purpose is not to revoke legit keys, the whole purpose WAS to revoke hacked keys that could potentially be used in many devices (same key in multiple devices)
As you see, this have nothing to do with the DMCA issue.
Also what seems to be illegal in US/CA is not illegal elsewhere.
Finally nothing can be illegal if there is no court case and final judgment.

So I guess what you are saying is if a batch of the the chips key is revoked, not only those just used in the fury, other devices from other manufactures would also be revoked or disabled ?
Do all the chips used in the Fury 1,Fury 2 And fury 3 series come from the same batch # with the same keys ?

yes sir, that's what i meant, and i also added that since HDCP masterkey is public, then one could even unrevoke a key !
Also about the batch, each IC is different (HDfury1/2/3 use 3 differents ICs type) and they were all purchased by small batch from various IC agent with different datecode and so on...

This should be interesting how this plays out....
I can't watch a Blur ray disc I just paid for because my playback device(CRT) is analog and not the latest and so called greatest device for sale in the marketplace.
My incentive to buy a Blur ray disc just went to zero for older but better IMO (analog) front CRT displays....

I've read this post about 3 times and just wanted to clarify on something. I shouldn't run out and get the HD Fury 3 for the chance that one day very soon, it could be useless.

Well, the question has still yet to be answered here in that even after the Fury and any other similar product can no longer be sold by a reseller in either the US or Can. after the 15th of Dec., BUT we still can order it directly from the manufacturer in Taiwan, HOW LONG will the Fury be able to continue to function as it does now??
As Tom and Allan ask, is there another "shoe to drop" here in that something along the way will occur that will prevent the company from eventually securing the parts they need to continue to make this product even if it is made in Taiwan. I must admit, I am very skeptical of the mid to long term future for these products. Why are the DMCA getting their shorts in such a knot about products that are being used primarily for "legacy" equipment, a very tiny portion of the marketplace that is shrinking by the day? I guess they are representing the television manufacturers as well. They all want us to IMMEDIATELY(or by Dec. 15 anyway)go out and buy new monitors!
I also can't help but wonder, Monoprice and other suppliers mentioned are those that actually keep the product in stock while CurtPalme was only acting as a middleman for units that were being shipped from Taiwan anyway! So who are they actually going after here? In the end, it would seem if they can't get at the offshore manufacturer, the primary and easier target (for the moment) is the local sellers.
Obviously, as we have surmised for a long time, the corporations and their lawyers have taken over the world.

It seems THEY have struck again. I just noticed the Moome V3 product announcement has, along with the Fury, disappeared from the website as well, even before it was officially available for sale. I am glad I didn't pre-order.

Forever !
This is a DMCA issue in US/CA, rest of the world is fine, purchasing from anywhere is fine.
Did anyone here used any of the products sold here to do illegal copies of movies, HDTV, whatever ?
Just look yourself in the mirror, are you a guy concerned by the industry stopping you from using your existing and perfectly capable display with nowaday equipment ? Or are you a dangerous criminal with electronic weapons that must be seized by the police ?
You can buy CD burner everywhere, does that make the CD burner store owner and customers some kind of criminals ?
No, it's the USE that you make out of it that counts.
Same for knife, same for anything.
The Law all over the world (except DMCA) will consider the USE, that's why we are sad that the forum went away, because that was the living proof that our products (and others products, like moome, cypress, spatz and others) was indeed ONLY used for legit purpose.
Better, it was the proof that buyers of our products was buying new equipment (hdmi) for their now digitaly upgraded display. And of course, a lot of movies !
What you are seeing here is just CEO, lawyers, etc... lack of knowledge of their markets, especially about the enthusiasts & early adopters. In fact they are shooting their own feets.
this not counting the fact that AACS is cracked since a while and digital copies can be done at 0 cost, now go figure why the criminals would need to buy expensive equipment for something they can do 1:1 digital for nothing ?
Same for HDCP... The Master key is public !
You can also start listing the case of Japan equipment that comes with HDCP bypass option on mother board, or menu or dongle.
The whole thing is just laughable. Don't make it too big, time will tell.
We stand behind the TRUTH.
You will then ask me .. "what if the truth doesn't show up ?" ... what if we put the gerber, firmware and everything online ?

What is the significance of the December 15th 2010 date? I couldn't find anything "on the net" about something going into effect on that date.
