Replacing the Ya board with a series of on/off switches, because that's all it really is? Mr. Green

I'm thinking that one could emulate the whole Ya board with some external CPU board, but HOW to do it is way way above me. Whatever Rogue is working on, best of success, that's for sure!

The IC421 problem seems to come in waves. I think a number of the owners with bad Ya boards junked their sets, I know I got at least two of them. Several other working G90s were parted out, I sold one Ya board, and know of at least one other G90 owner that bought a second set for parts. So I don't think the problem is underrated, the customers with sets simply dealt with the issue as they saw fit. ONce a couple of these gov't sound jobs pay, I will grab that Ya board off you, but I've sunk my cash flow into sound installs recently rather than buying more projector stuff.

Well, Rogue is actually working on.... Twisted Evil

I am really really really really glad that you didn't buy my spare YA board Curt. Yesterday I went to a new client to repair a G90 with error 89 and then install a Radiance, Moome, and do a full setup. I thought it was going to be a bad register in the Dallas chip and that would do it, but when I turned on the projector the image was jumping all over the place. We all know by now this is a bad IC421. I replaced the YA board with the spare and all went well after that.

But here we are with yet another bad IC421 Sad And by the way, this unit had 4000 hours on it. I haven't checked the serial number on the IC yet, but I bet it is consistent.

Now I need another parts G90 just for a YA and a few other easy to get boards.

I don't know Tom, your restaurant makes some really great food! Working on projectors full time is like any other job you like, some days it's fun and others it is just work.

I guess your right, I think it is because burnout is setting here at the Diner. No motivation to do anything new. I need a new cook since I had to fire one of 6 years because he was stealing. I have a prospect but just not in the mood to hire and train
a new guy. So i have been working about 26 more hours a week. Today is my double. Started at 7 here till Close.

And I just got that Scott 299C tube amplifier I want to hook up and listen to. It will have to wait till tomorrow night.

Woah talk about perfect timing. And you happened to be Johnny on the spot, with a replacement YA to put in. Interesting that its a 4000 hr unit. Another datapoint. I think I'll be keeping my spare YA very close, just in case. The G90 chassis has 2500hrs and the YA replacement I'm currently running has >5000hrs.
