With that kind of bandwidth and brightness it's going to take a small screen and low resolution to look good at all. If you're looking to mess around with gaming, it could be OK if you run some crazy resolution and are OK with flicker... but I'm not sure. For movies it's almost certainly not going to be worth the tradeoffs.

The little Barco's don't have the resolution, bandwidth or anything else needed for 3D, not without compromises much more serious than the slightly elevated black level of a 3D digital projector.

I'd grab a $350 120Hz DLP 3D capable projector to play with, on the 708s, the flicker would drive you nuts for 3D.
