Has anyone attempted to increase the size of a rear projection tv?
I have one sitting here and my sister in law is moving next week I was thinking of moving it to the basement and attempting to increase the size of the screen. I have apx 5'x6' piece of rear projection material left over from the setup in the backyard.
The major concern I have is whether the picture will be drastically out of focus.
I have a small room down there that I could put the tv in and cut a hole in the sheetrock for the screen to go over. The room was a blackroom a few (15 or so) years back so there won't be any light interfering.
I am hoping this will also solve the problem of my wife allowing people to stay down there.

If the Tv has lenses with adjustable focus ( most do ) then yes you can. You will need to build some curtains or a box around it too.
