Hello all,

I just bought a house with a finished basement and home theater. It has a Runco dtv-991 ultra and the RED bulb has gone out. I am sorry if I sound ignorant on this subject but I am learning. the previous owner said it had about 6000 hours left on the unit. I guess my question is...how do I replace the red bulb? Is this unit worth fixing? and were to find one of those bulbs if it is worth fixing. Thank you for any help..

Robbie

Hi here are some links to familiarize yourself with the Runco and yes the TUBES are still available in a CRT they are not BULBS.

It also may not be the TUBE itself that isn't working it could be an electronic part keeping it from becoming active or "on".

Yes put your location in your Profile it may turn out some one here is close to your location, and belive it or not they will come out and help. I know this first hand when I brought my Projector home I had a hell of a time setting it up and someone actually came out, showed me how to set it up and then we had beers ... provided by me , were nice, we give out plenty of information, but come on, we ain't supplying the beer too. The tube itself is likely fine if it's gone out once or twice before and turning the projector off/on fixed it. It's some circuitry that controls the tube that is the issue.

Email Curt: He can troubleshoot it for you and then sell you the replacement part. He's at curt@curtpalme.com
