Hi everyone I just wondered if anyone had pictures or a description of how to safely pack a set of 9 lenses for shipping and how to prevent the front and back lens getting scratched, thanks.

Of course the best answer is to use the lens covers that were made for those lenses for their initial shipment from the factory to the
projector manufacturer...if you have them.
Otherwise, you'd be surprised what you can do with plastic coffee can lids and a few pieces of tape.
Pack the lenses in firm durometer foam rubber blocks. Do NOT rely on packing peanuts. The lenses will shift around in the peanuts
and damage each other.
If you can lay your hands on some heavy wall cardboard tubing (like in the middle of a roll of carpet, but bigger) which will hold a lens,
cut a section of it for the lens, wrap the lens in foam sheeting, and put the lens in the cardboard tube. Pad the ends and tape it shut
and put it in a shipping box.

Tim Used plastic bowls the size of the inside of the Lens for the Bottoms where the lens is curved. This way there is enough room for that curve incase the lens adjustment knobs come loose and the lens come out of the barrel and then would hit a flat lens cover. I have had that happen to a set shipped to me, ruined a perfect set of HD10GT17's.

Try this stuff: http://www.mcmaster.com/#packaging-foam/=9ccxbx
The expanding foam bags are a little expensive but they work well.
This is the manufacturer: http://www.sealedair.com/products/protective/instapak/quick/quick.html
A cheaper alternative might be to tightly wrap them individually with several layers of thick bubble wrap so that they cannot be damaged and then pack them in larger boxes with more foam or bubble wrap, not peanuts.
The size of the package figures into the shipping cost so the expanding foam bags might be a better way to go, depending on whether or not you have to buy the bubble wrap.

Maybe not ruined...
There are quite a few optics shops that cater to the amateur astronomy market that would be capable of taking those
lenses apart, stripping the optical coatings, repolishing them, and reapplying the coatings. And the price would be
reasonable as the amateur astronomy market demands reasonable pricing or the company doesn't get any business.
You might want to look into this option. It'd be worth spending some money to get the damage polished out and then have them recoated. If the damage is just a surface hazing, then you can be assured that repolishing them won't throw off their optical performance by enough to notice.

Guys
The thirty-nine cent cereal bowl lens cap from the grocery store; the one on the right took a pretty good hit and saved the lens. For HD10-series you want 5.5" diameter bowls.

I can attest to the Tim Cereal bowl method. Both received and sent lenses with this method, and everything was A-OK.
