There are at least 3 or 4 pretty thorough threads on the subject, from the theoretical to the practical (like Craig's thread, Dave's link above). Try a search!

Hello

My 3d experience is from working with supercomputer labs, they prefer to call it "stereoscopic" and it has been in use more than fifteen years. Silicon Graphics was at the forefront of stereoscopic image rendering at the time.

Short answer, yes it is.
Caveats:
To get the full flicker and judder free experience, you really want 1080P @ 144Hz, and your CRT isn't going to quite cope with that.
720P @ 96Hz maybe, so it will be a little flickery and the green tube tends to ghost a bit. The image is also quite dark, even with the new glasses. Looks great in bright scenes, especially CGI, but is too dark in dark scenes. (Even the best LCD shutter glasses block an appalling amount of light)

How to do it? The thread above looks like there will be a nice and easy commercial solution, otherwise you can make your own sync circuit for a few dollars to trigger a set of LCD shutter glasses. These can be anything from the old wired SEGA glasses that you can pick up for $5, to the NVidia solution for around $180.

If you want to watch commercial 3D Blurays, then you can rip them using 3DBDBuster or SSIF-Sucka and then play the movies back via Stereoscopic Player.

So you can do it now, I've been watching 3DBDs on my NEC XG for a while now using old,old glasses and it works okay, with Nvidia glasses and it works quite well, but the image is dark and though it is fun, it doesn't hold a candle to the cinema or even the affordable 720P digital 3D projectors.

Add in a few deep breaths around some 1,1,1-trichlorethane and you don't even need the projector!
