Hello,

My Marquee has some strange picture loss problems since i got it and these days i found out, that it happens for example when i turn on the room light so it may has something to do with 230V power grid instability.

Does anyone also had such strange things ever ?

Has it something to do with my lvps ?

best regards

Silly point but just try covering the IR ports with with several layers of Electrical tape. See if it still does it as the PJ may be picking up stray IR commands as the lights come on.

You also shouldn't try to watch a CRT with the lights on anyhow Smile

mine goes blank too when ie the refrigerator turns on or when a tube light is turned on, whenever there is a sudden high voltage drop in fact.

Id get a UPS or a medical grade Isolation transformer to plug the marquee into or any CRT.

A quick check could be done with a extension and plug the marquee into a outlet that is known to be on a different leg in the circuit panel. (if the lights are on L1, plug it into L2) then they only share N and ground.
Also, before buying a UPS or power filter for it (not that it's a bad idea. I have one on mine) do cover the IR reciever and try it. The lights may be causing it, not the power they use.
What kind of lights are they and how do you switch them?

i only have 1 l1 and the lights i switch are tube l;uminaires from philips colour 84 (8400kelvin).
it definitely is the voltage drop because when my freezer or refrigerator turns on i get the pic dropout, nashou is right i should get a ups or what he has a 50kilovolts transformer.

I don't see this as being an issue. You can't watch a CRT with the room light on, so it's reminding you to turn off the light. Very Happy

I think you'd need to measure the lines out of the power supply to see what's going on. Also measure the input of the 220 volt line to see if it's dropping when you turn on the light.

If you have three-phase mains, using different phase for projector should help.
Single phase mains are pretty rare here, usually only small departments build before 1940 have those.

Fluorescent tube need 400-600 V for ignition, so drop to main will happen when ignition phase kick in.

Make sure the UPS is of on-line type.
As the off-line type will do you no good.

A better type will also regulate the output voltage and frequency. And supply a good sine wave.

I have only had experience with APC and EATON (powerware), mostly because I have not seen anyone use anything else for servers here.

APC seems to be readily available so get that.

Any one remember the IR fiasco with the sling box? They choose the IR frequency to land exactly where plasma displays operate.

Marquee uses very high frequency and should be very robust.

A transformer will do you no good if it's power instability. It will only filter noise and any ground noise. And DC.

Do lights flicker often?
