This was my first projector, which ended up in a friend's bar. I don't even remember how to check the hours on it but i'm sure it has between 10,000 and 15,000 hours on it. it's been hanging dormant for years and now there's a push to screen the Saints games. the problem is the tubes keep cutting off. everything works fine for about two minutes then either the red and green will shut off, or the blue, or the all of them. turning the unit off and back on again will start the whole thing over again with all tubes working for a few minutes. I'm using the S-video input for standard def cable.
Any ideas?

It's not old.... it's MATURE! 
I had this with a 1252 I sold recently. The ribbon cable going to the CAG board was intermittent. Take a can of Caig contact cleaner with you and clean all connections on the various video boards.
You didn't even throw a DVDO on top of the set for 480p? Damnnnnnn...

Nah, I sold it cheap with the install. It was more of a favor than anything else and the owner doesn't seem to care so long as it works. So be it... Thanks for the tip. I'll give that a shot.
