I have a nec xg1352 (I am getting the board fixed by curt so it dont crack the green tube). In the mean time I am building my room. It is 14 ftl long and 10 feet wide. So a small space the celings are only 7 ft.

I have the factory celing mount that attaches to projector and has to black knobs for rotating it.

How should I go about flipping it over and attaching the brackets. (couch cushions to protect projector)?
Or should I open the carrying handles and prop it on its side to attach hardware?

Is the mounting bracket when attached in the center of the projector? Trying to fiqure out how to center projector in room.
Also for couch viewing ceiling mounted how high should the projector and screen be?

My screen is approx 101 diaganol and the raster has been set up by the previous owner running to the max safe area for 1080i that I will be using.

Put the screen at what ever height you feel comfortable looking at when youre in your chair.

Mount the projector as low down as practical, tilt the front up to get the picture in line with your screen, this way the tubes will be more level, so youll use less keystone, the picture on the tube faces will be more square and less trapasiodal. Picture will probably be a touch sharper too with abit more phosphor used to display the image. Youll also end up with the projector closer to the screen this way for the same size image, so itll be brighter for less brightness and contrast used.

Its not such a huge deal with a CRT to use keystone as it is with a digital, use it with a digital and there goes any chance at resolving any resolution at all. Use it with the CRT and it just means you use abit less phosphor at the top or bottom of your tubes.

I would suggest that you first position your projector on the floor (with no part of the mount attached) at the resolution you are going to watch it at so that it fills the screen.

Now you just need to drop a plumb line from the ceiling to get an idea where the mounting point on the brackets will be located.

Use unistrut mounts if possible and then mount the bracket on to it. With the plumb line method above, you will know when u have got it right since the mounting holes on the projector and those on the bracket will line up vertically.

Enjoy!

Yes, you will. Make sure there is room to move back and forward with your mounting method!!
