|
|
I decided to send my "B" board in for repair. But when I pulled it out I noticed the "BA" sister board which rides on top was partially dislodged...unplugged from the "B" board. So now before sending it I have to put it back in to make sure that wasn't why it was malfunctioning in the first place. Unfortunately I didn't photograph the card before unplugging the six mini hv-looking cables.
I was hoping someone could tell me what color goes where. The lables are
BK GK RK
BG1 GG1 RG1
Wire colors available are
Red, Green, Blue, White, Yellow, Warm orange
Sorry to be so pathetically hapless.

If it helps I think the green goes with the yellow, the blue with the white, and red with the orange.
So maybe mostly I just need to know whether to put the red green and blue on the "K" or the "G1"
Maybe G1 stands for ground?

Don't do this wrong. I am pretty sure that on the G70 one has a negative voltage and one has positive. G is not ground here, it is the inverse of the video signal which is K. These are low voltage at the B, but running them backwards is not a good idea...

I am too sleepy to check, but I think those cables go directly to the neck cards. You could open the hatch and look at the neck cards to see which one goes where. They will be labeled the same at the neck cards (K and G1).

Thanks for the caution. I would have blowed it up if I did what I followed my best guess.
I think I have my answer but it still would be nice to confirm before committing.
Based on this picture pf the Main input board found on Curt's quite awesome G70 Layout site
It appears the green goes on the innermost clip labled GG1 and the yellow goes on the outer GK clip. That is the exact opposite of what I was thinking.
So based on this I assume I would put the red green and blue on the G1s and respectively orange yellow and white on the "K" clips.[/img]

I wouldn't want you to go to that much trouble. I do know they go to the neck cards. I can always open it up and check. That's a good strategy. I've probably resisted opening because my room is quite dark my eyes are over 40 years old and the projector is inverted.

I'm only 22. My dad died young when I was five. He willed me his eyes. They were too big for my head at first. I pretty much could only look straight ahead. My friends nicknamed me "Bug". About four years ago I grew into them and they have been working good since. Except I need reading glasses.
