|
|
Hi,
In my quest to get a BarcoDataPC (R9000280) projector running I have finally found some extra SMPS's. Unfortnatelly I had an incident when trying out one SMPS.
I pulled out and put in different powersupplies to try to get it running and get a testpattern. At one time the blue tube put out a bright light and the others where faint. I tested the brightness buttons but it made no difference. After maybe 20-30 seconds I turned of the power again.
I found that the blue tube (and lens) was a bit loose and had rotated a around it's pivotpoint so that a resistor on the tubes neckboard was in contact with a cooling element on the SMPS.
I moved the tube so it was no longer in contact with the cooling element, and started the PJ again. This time all tubes where equally bright and responded to the brightness buttons.
When I look into the tubes now, the red and green have fairly good looking testgrids. On the blue the testgrid is visible, but the background is also slightly lit, making the grid fuzzy looking. It looks like the grid is shifted and the beam is writing where or when it shouldn't.
Did I fry the blue tube or something else with this mistake? Can it be fixed, maybe just by turning one of those many trimpots? I do have a box full of boards to so I can start swapping and testing, but I don't know in which end to begin.
I also have some extra BarcoDataPC PJs.
Since I haven't had the testgrid running before, I don't know if the blue tube was like this before my mistake.
Any help would be appreciated.
Have a nice day
/Bjorn

No, it sounds like either there's a problem with the video output circuit, or with the CRT socket., or the G2 level is set too high, The tube should be fine.

Thanks
I guess the video output circuit is the board you name Video/RGB board on this page
http://www.curtpalme.com/Barco400_Layout1.shtm
Unfortunately the spare ones I have seem to be from an (even) older Barco Data2/3 with another part number.
So I'm down to turning some knobs and see what I get.
I have some pictures that might held diagnose the problem and guide me. Descriptions in description field.
