So yeah, Curt says he is going to just send his clients to me that need G90 control system repairs done. He's sick of trouble shooting G90 problems especially on YA boards. So if you need board level repair done on a G90 feel free to email me craigr@cir-engineering.com or just shoot an email to Curt and he'll pass you along to me.

I can however repair any other board out of a G90. Mr. Green

I love this forum!! looks like the IC 421 might be getting a permanent fix it from the smartest guys on the fourm!!!

Craig i wasn't expecting you to divulge the exact info, but the info you gave in the post was all i needed. I was just curious if Roges advice was part of it.

No, it wasn't, but I did appreciate the effort he started to put in. At the point Roges gave that advice I was already past that stage of diagnostics. I got some more ideas before I saw his post and then Mac and I bounced back and forth with thoughts. I just plowed on without responding because I thought I was onto it so...

Sorry Curt, I definitely don't want to step on your toes. Especially since you've given me some awesome referrals the past few, have sent me many parts, and the fact that this is your forum and you are a good guy Wink

Thanks for everything Curt!

No worries, I just didn't want anyone to think that I'm out of G90 stuff completely. You're just better at the Ya boards than I am, and I've got no problems admitting that, esp. when it comes to keeping CRT alive and well. I do have stock of most other Pc boards for the G90, save for a working Ya board to sell.

Craigr, any chance you can part with the YA board with the missing IC421? I am close to testing an IC421 replacement and need a second CPU.

Possibly. Let's talk about this some more as I am interested in you finding a solution. Mac is working on this as well so the two of you might want to collaborate, though I can't speak for him and you might be further along. Please email me craigr@cir-engineering.com

There’s not much to talk about, the solution is straight forward consisting of a PIC processor, a gate array, and a interface board. Basically, the PIC and gate array emulate the IC421 functionality. The PIC is needed to decode the commands from the YA cpu and format the data strings for the DAC’s. The gate array is required to accommodate the high serial data transfer rate to the DAC’s. Of course, the key is to understand the logic in the IC421 chip then programing it into the PIC.

Anyway, let me know if you decide to part with that CPU.

Hey, I didn't mean let's talk about IC421, I meant let's talk about me getter you a YA board to work with. I would prefer to talk in private so please email me craigr@cir-engineering.com or give me a call.

Thanks

I could swear that this was alredy suggested in this thread or another and that idea was cast aside. Who was that masked man. Probably some whacked out AmPro doofus. Rolling Eyes

I also have been wanting to post that Craig has fixed my YA board about 4 weeks ago and it has been working perfectly. My wife had surgery around the time the board arrived and I have been extremely busy taking care of her and our business. Craig, Thank you for the great job!

After almost 8 months my G90 was down and watching a Viewsonic Pro8100 LCD projector to hold us over for viewing I forgot and appreciate the G90's great picture . It is so smooth, filmlike, noise free and natural.
The Viewsonic - $1200 -1080P - for the money is a decent projector for TV and sports but just dosen't compare to the CRT for film based material.
