Robin Hood [Blu-ray] (2010)

Ridley Scott's take on the classic medieval hero will charge onto Blu-ray this September!

In an early announcement to retailers, Universal has set 'Robin Hood: Director's Cut' for Blu-ray release on September 21.

The film stars Russell Crowe, Cate Blanchett, and Mark Strong and the release will be the Unrated Director's Cut featuring fifteen minutes of new footage not seen in theaters.

The Blu-ray will feature 1080p video, lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack, and bonus features will include: Deleted Scenes with Intro & Commentary by Editor Pietro Scalia as well as Rise and Rise Again: Making Ridley Scott's Robin Hood (divided into three parts: Ballad, Legend and Myth: Pre-Production, The More the The Merrier: Production, and No Quarter Given: Post-Production).

Exclusive to the Blu-ray will be My Scenes, Pocket Blu, and BD-Live connectivity, as well as two extensive features:

Director's Notebook - A seamless multimedia experience focusing on the director's vision gives viewers a peek inside Oscar nominee Ridley Scott's unique filmmaking process. Incorporating behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with Scott and his trusted inner circle of collaborators, this feature launches at critical moments throughout the film to illuminate the task of mounting a vast production like Robin Hood.

The Art of Nottingham - A special look at the portfolio of designs generated for the film, including video introductions by key department heads such as production designer Arthur Max and costume designer Janty Yates. Galleries of concept art, costume designs, storyboards and other imagery are featured.

Release date: Sept 21, 2010

Who's seen it? What did you think?

It's gotten fairly mixed reviews with the most being a thumbs down it seems (RottenTomatoes.com gave it 43%).

i've seen it.

it was a very good medieval adventure movie which happened to contain a fellow named Robin. Costuming was good, history was ... creative.

Thanks! I love medieval themed movies but don't really care about Robin Hood. If the story's interesting then I'm in!
I could care less if it's historically accurate.

Cool! I think I will! I was leaving it aside since it wasn't getting great reviews. I loved Gladiator, and I love Ridley's other work so I figured this one was a 'blind buy for me anyway...

Thanks Zaphod!
