Hey guys, got an issue here that I haven't run across.

I bought three sets of the latest firmware chips for an Ultra CLM off Tim last year as spares. I upgraded one CLM from a non ultra to an Ultra by changing the chips, tested the CLM for proper functioning in an Ultra chassis, and sent it out. No issues.

Today I've got a non Ultra set up on the bench, original software version 4.1, and I put in version 4.5 that I bought from Tim. The menus still show a non Ultra version of set, in that I get no independent top and bottom pin and keystone.

The question therefore is, do I need to put the Ultra CLM in an Ultra chassis in order for the menus to change to reflect an Ultra set? (I did go into the super secret menu to change the projector type, that didn't do anything.)

I know the chips aren't bad, so is the CLM sensing that it's not in an Ultra chassis, and therefore isn't displaying the Ultra menus? I figured the Ultra menus would display, but the key and pin functions wouldn't work, since the circuits aren't on the focus board...

Thanks!

Hey!

Your control board is not detecting a Geometry/Focus board, so the extra geometry features are not enabled. Like trying to access Acon without Acon installed, it won't let you into the Acon menus.

Gotcha! Yes, I confirmed this, realizing that I had a 9500 Ultra right in front of the bench. Put the newly chipped board into it, and the Ultra menus popped right up.

thanks!
