Hi,am feeling a bit ambitious lately and am planning to go for a top end scaler.Has anyone compared these two scalers?i feel my 9incher still has a lot to give ,in terms of picture quality.And would like to experience the best that crts can give.Am now using a Ps3 and Barco acs2048 scaler,scaled at 2048 x 1080 @60hz.

Yeah, I'm saving my pennies for a Lumagen. Between Curt Palme's pricing and the new $500 trade-in program, it's an incredible deal. There are also some that popped up on Videogon for an insane price, but they smell a bit fishy.

you are probably right,plus the possibility of lumagen xs getting ready for 3d.i just thought of the crystalio cause the price quoted was very tempting and i have tried their lower end model and was impressed.
Thanks,will save up for the lumagen and buy it from Curt.

Lumagen, for sure.
CII is a great scaler (i have it myself) but the support of Pixelmagic is POOR. Updates are long gone and the lumagen can do 1080p72hz.

Jim (owner of Lumagen) is great guy to work with. It's extremely rare to find someone who's so hands on and keeps his products up to date. He's constantly working on improving what's already there. I suppose that's one reason why I like the Radiance architecture so much: It's essentially a very high end (fast) video processing computer and the software can be changed over time to meet new needs - things that you may not even know exist yet! For example, they're working on adding 3D support now. That's something they never even knew would exist when the original Radiance was designed.
Radiance = future proof.

Not only that, they said once they have that one under their Belt they will begin work on adding Edge Blending!!
He told me it would require two Radiance's, Basically the same as Tv-One offers with their single output C2-2xxxA series. However these will be much more friendly to Home Theater users and the second output will be independent to daisy chain to the second XS unit.
I can't wait!!!!

I'm curious if anyone here are using the C2 for laserdisc. I don't really see other scalers with a 3D comb filter.. I already have the Radiance XS.. So ill like to try out the C2 as a Comb filter/ Deinterlacer.
If anyone have one they don't use.. 3300-3800 I'm interested..

There's one on eBay local to me (item #190773135621) comes with a Barco Cine 8 though and is collection only. I may be able to collect and ship it for you if of interest.

The seller responded that he will finish the auction for both, and i have no interest in Barco AC projectors.. And the trouble getting it shipped and so on.
But If your interested, or know anyone needing Barco parts or the complete projector, i'm willing to make a offer for it as a set.. But i'm not going to make a fight for it.
i'm quite sure that there is limited interest of a CRT with no proof of condition, what do you thinks would be a fair price for the Barco.?
So ill make a offer. If the seller is willing to let it hang until someone else will come get it.
