my neighbor has dish hd and it sucks. he has good equipment and has had techs out several times and the picture quality just aint there, it is also pricey and you have to sign a 2 year contract,he is very unhappy and rightfully so.i own all my dish equipment and have no contract,i was considering a scaler, but i geuss that is for another thread. thanks jeff

if anyone has ever tried an over the air antannae i think you be really be suprised.contrary to what they try to market to us, all you need is a regular antennae which you can get at radio shack for 20 dollars us and some rg-6 coax. it is the best picture i have seen on any tv. another advantage is there is no rain fade as there is in satelite and no cable outages either.the only downside is all you get is basic local network tv, but there is alot of extra channels due to the extra bandwidth the locals have such as dedicated local weather channels and alot of movie channels although you have to put up with editing and commercials, but its all free.if you have strong local stations you can throw up any rabbit ears antannae (as long asit has coax and not flat wire) plug it in.scan for channels and viola ! 1080i beutiful picture that looks better than you can imagine. jeff
sorry that was off topic, i dont know what came over me.

I have installed many OTA receivers HD and SD around here there are hmmm 24-26 channels about 8 or 9 in 1080i or 720p ( PBS and Fox ) good deal all around. I do get rain fade however. Not like you do with satelite though.

Yes

if il order a 6 ft dvi-hdmi cable for the ts-160 does it need to be a dual like we spoke of yesterday? |
No. DVI single link. Much less expensive
| jeffslife wrote: |
the way things are looking i'm thinking i might be better off to just to forget about this ts 160 as it is starting to look like i am going to have to replace all the cables i just bought. |
Can you return the 35 foot HDMI and get your money back?
| jeffslife wrote: |
i set this up ass backwards from the get go because i have the hd fury 3 and gamma x at the pj not at the source which is apparantly where it belongs. |
It can go either place but the HDMI is hit or miss where as the RGBHV just works.

i have no inexpensive way to correct this situation now, except to start from scratch buy all new 35 ft cables and get divorced. i gotta think about this for awhile. |
Well there you go two byrds with one stone J/K

i just bought a sony g70 off ebay which i have to pick up thursday it has a moome board in it. the seller is a curt palme member and seems like a nice guy. now i need to rethink everything. thanks again, jeff |
Hmmm then you may need that 35 foot HDMI cable after all.
If you want to keep things set up as is with your current cables why not try exchanging the HDMI switch for a different brand to see if you can find one to drive the 35 foot cable run. The switch will be called equalized or amplified.
You will also need the 6 foot DVI single link to HDMI cable.

WOW ! i installed the 6 ft dvi-hdmi cable on the monoprice swither and problem solved. It works perfectly. I would never have dreamed that a longer input cable would work better than a shorter cable. I think the issue is limited to that particular model switcher though. Again, thank you all for all your help. jeff

So you don't need the 45 foot RGBHV cable from Curt then?
It's all working for you now just right? No issues from anything while switching? Both the bluray and TS-160 look great?
Jeremy
