What older model lumagen or dvdo product can output
1920X1080i @ 96hz
or
1920X1980i @ 72hz
over rgb
from a 1920X1080i60 source
dvddo vp30?
dvddo iscan hd?
dvdo iscan hd+?

The Lumagen DVI can usually be had VERY cheap now because it does not do 1080p. The HDP and HDQ will do 1080i/96 but the DVI will only does 1080i/72. Despite the spec sheets the DVI does accept 1080p/24 so you will get a flawless 1080p/24 to 1080i/72. Also, Analog output was an option on the DVI, so you need to make sure it has this if you want it. I'd go with an HDMI to RGB box like the HDFury though.
So really the things the HDP/HDQ have over the DVI are:
1) 96 Hz (as opposed to 72 Hz) 1080i output possible.
2) Good video mode for 1080i.
3) 1080p output (the DVI only goes to 800p but does 1080i).
A bit about number 2. There is not really a video mode for 1080i on the DVI. What this means if, for 1080p/24 input with a 1080i/72 output, you'd see no difference between the DVI and an HDP/HDQ. However, if the source is an HD movie station broadcasting at 1080i/60 and you try to convert that to 1080i/72 you will see more combing and tearing on the DVI than the HDP/HDQ.
However, if you main source is BD and/or you are willing to watch broadcast 1080i/60 at 1080i/60, I'd go DVI if you find one cheap unless you need 1080p output in the future.

Okay so in the next little while I will have a lumagen dvi and also a dvdo iscan hd+.
I am going to using the lumagen for 1080p 24HZ. Will the iscan me any good for anything?
I am going to use the crt for bell hdtv which is 720p@60hz , ps3,xbox360, hd-dvd (toshiba hdA2)
maybe I should sell one or the other if both are not needed.

I have personally tried this with a DVI. The EDID menu contains 1080p/24 as an option and I have sent the output of the LG BH100 at 1080p (which only does 24 not 60) to a DVI and it worked without a problem. An you could certainly tell bye the output that it was not scaled!
Their spec sheet says the DVI cannot do it because they want the HDP/HDQ to have better specs, but I have absolutely done it and know it works.
