OK here is the deal. My Onkyo Tx-SR606 does not like to pass video thru from my HTPC to my Sony 1272. Well it did then it blew up and in for warranty repair and then it doesn't. Manual says "doesn't support PC " So it doesn't matter because I run at 1080i so its VGA to HDFury to projector. After all this happened I used my X-Fi card with 7.1 out and hooked it up for sound. Its not as good as the audio when I had it hooked up for HDMI. SO the question is:

Can I hook up the VGA or DVI to the HDFury and Use the HDMI for audio to the Onkyo?

I just had a massive failure and am restoring from the Windows Home Server ( 116 gigs over the gigabit network is gonna take a while. ) So I started pondering this and wonder what the consensus was.

Will it work?

Does it vary?

Waste of time?

Thanks

Scott
