So , I just got done with the lunch rush here at work and went into my office to check e-mails
and see what is going on here and on AVS. I haven't checked E-bay for a while so i went on, put in
CRT Projector. I am always looking for any Ultra boards and such. So I saw three new listings for
a Sony 1292, a 1252 and G90. they all had a price of $900 or Best Offer. So I thought 900 is not a
bad price for a G90 but I really don't need one now as i have 5 working Marquee's and the Ampro 3600
that i haven't even fired up yet. So i said i wonder how much this guy really wants for it. So i figured it
be about 750-800 maybe. So i just wanted a counter offer and put $ 500 in the offer price and they accepted it!!!!!!
Now what the hell am I going to do. I really did not want to drive to far to pick it up. but its in Jersey.
looks like a weekday road trip next week
If tubes are shot I have those Thomas tubes I could pop in
$500 G90!!!

I have no Idea. I dont think they know it was an impulse offer just to find out how much they really wanted.
I was looking for G90 lenses anyway . they were going for 500 a set so i figure i got the whole Pj now.
if the Chip is ok then I'll have that board for anyone if i don't plan on selling it or using it at some point.
I was doing soooo well to not buying anything PJ related the past few weeks while i was immersed in my
theater doing calibrations on the blend. Hmm find one more and the long bows might have to come down

Well, i did not expect to win with a 500 offer. the site says its opperational and it has about 4900 hours.
Clarence racked up 10,000 and more so it might be usable right away. we'll see.
Either way I got a set of HD10f's I figure shipping the lenses is about 50 bucks or so and i'll spend just a bit more for gas to pick it up.

and abandoning the marquee, traitor find 2 9500 ultras and do a blend.
i too am always looking for 9500ultras but they appear to be quite rare in europe, i havent seen 1 listed in 1/2 yr now for less then 3000 euro.
what do you want with a sh*tty sony the thing streaks.

Well you did ask me about Thomas's in a G-90. If the tubes are shot, I'll be on vacation June 5-13. If you want, I'll give it a shot. I still have the nice used green Thomas to experiment with. Take off the lenses you want and drop off the carcass on the way by.
With nothing but AmPro's to work on lately, I'm starting to feel like the Maytag repair man (nothing to do)

The red & blue tube faces looked pretty good. I forwarded the tube pics to ya. Yur lucky I don't have any spare cash for projectors right now or I'd have nabbed it first and made you pick it up for me!

The only day I didn't check eBay and look what happens. I'm just surprised someone didn't swipe it at the BIN price while you waited for a reply. If it was 4 months ago this puppy would have been nice hanging from my ceiling. Lucky haul.
No odds though as I'm pleased with my Onyx and it's perfect for the shorter room.
Okay, I'll admit, there's a small amount of envy...

Congrats!
I probably have 15,000 hours on the original tubes now. I've been travelling a lot for the past 6 months but my older son has been racking up PS3/X360 hours. I have a couple of better green tubes, but the current one still barely shows a wear pattern... far from toast. I do crank it from the usual contrast=70 up to 80 when we watch blurays on the weekend, but as long as it's as stunning as it is, I'll keep letting it ride.
I quit searching for CRTs several years ago. I gave a buddy a nice Runco/XG75 a few months ago... upgraded the ECP I gave him years ago. I still have a nice 1292 that I can't bear to part out. And a couple of toasty G70's... I should list a similar Buy It Now ad on eBay just to see if I can make someone's day and coax them into hauling it all away.
