I thought LED was about standard for these but turns out only the nicer ones have it.
Small HDD for putting HD video over on vacation. I would get 250 at least.
Single core, last gen processor.
Not good graphics...probably not capable of playing HD.
No bluetooth. [does that matter to you?]
Windows XP.

I want Windoze XP, it doesn't need as much horsepower, I don't give a rats arse about blue balls..er tooth. Graphics however, now we got a problem!
I dunno, 160 I could probably empty my SD card at least 10 times there. Each time is 2 hours of 720p video so that would be OK.
Keep in mind I will also be shooting Hi8 ( a boatload ), 6x6, 35mm and the GF will have my Canon G6. One of these times I gotta get an 8x10 camera and some Polaroid film.  No need for a dam PC then 
So the 720p camera isn't the primary. It's just for chasing the crabs and lobsters around and fooling around getting a look at the whales underwater ( and, hopefully the iceburgs too ).
Single core, meh, again, I want small, not a hot rod.
BTW her pictures will likely end up on the PS3, which may do what I need in terms of web surfing but may not. Hence the need for the netbook

You are right about XP not needing much HP. I'm comparing a W7 Pro 64-bit on Core i3 w/8GB RAM to an XP Pro 32-bit on E5400 Dual Core w/2GB RAM and the XP solution is faster loading, opening Internet Explorer and Firefox, etc. Both are RAID-1 solutions using the same drives.

Like I said. Don't need much. I want to surf and maybe watch some streaming video. Has to be small. I found a 5.6" with touch screen but it's only got 800MHz proc.

I bought the wife a [url=http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/PID-MX27309(ME).aspx]1001[/url] last week for mother's day. pretty much the same specs except n450 vs n270. I like it, but truth be told the only reason I bought it is it has an english qwerty keyboard vs. euro-qwerty that every other manufacturer available in Calgary had. All of the netbooks in that $300 range had pretty much identical specs. Note the intel 3150 shared graphics vs. ION though. No HDMI out for the intel.

What about the Fujitsu Lifebook U820 It comes with a 1.6GHz atom z530.

I borrowed an MSI 10" netbook. I HATE IT! Wrols most annoying keyboard ever! I randomly jumps around and erases y typedtext I've alread already typed and ndomly insets test all over the place ARFGGHHH

Well I bought a Fujitsu u820 off fleabay for $450. Pretty damned impressed for a Vista SP1 tablet. Definitely not the fastest piece on the planet by any stretch by Garmin mobile PC is nice, built in 3G hardware(this american model has the 3G h/w not sure if the canadian models do or not), dual band atheros wifi card ( I was shocked to see my my 5GHz network listed ready for a connection).
I'll have to see if the Sprint connection manager will allow me to connect to the Telus hspa network here later today. Anyway, screen is bright enouogh to use outside but it does need an anti-glare screen protector as the lil 5.6 inch screen is fairly reflective.
I bought another 6 of them for use as tablets for the municipal census coming up next month at the town that I manage I was so impressed. If I have time I'll do an unbox video when they get here on Monday. As well, I'm going to set this one up with the WHS connector software and see how well it handles streamed video.

I haven't streamed, I need this image pristine as I am going to clone it on Monday Morning. I'll mess with the MediaSmart software once I've got a good image.
