To the same address as the receiver? I would have thought the filter would have to be after the LCD panel which I assume is part of the assembly with the 3 ribbon cables coming out of it.

Yeah, same address. The reason I'm not giving more info on finding and removing the possible bad parts is because if the wrong screw or bracket is loosened or removed then the entire alignment may be thrown off and may not be realignable without special equipment. Plus if the exact part is not available then one from something else may be able to be used but may have to be retrofitted and may require special attention to function properly.

Its not always about just finding the bad part. Very Happy

Green dichroics usually don't fade. I've never yet seen either a red or green dichroic element that had faded much if at all.

Interesting, CJ.... So, what would be responsible for the green predominance? Seems like green predominance would have to come from either too much green, or not enough red and blue, neither of which seem like a likely scenario given your experience.

Green LCD stuck wide open AND blue filter fade?

Well, if there's no blue content then green will predominate. Red is usually a minor component in a typical picture.

It's kind of hard to diagnose this one without some good photos of various optical components in operation when I know exactly
what the input image is supposed to look like.

Hey, Dan - Did you ever fix one or both of these machines? I'm just curious where the problem ended up being.

I doubt he fixed them.
His blue panel is shot and his green optics, in and out polarizers, are shot.
Wish I would have found this forum sooner. I could save you guys some disassembly! :p
