Well, let me just tell you this: It is absolutely definitely true that Scott engineered the use of Luminus Phlatlight PT-120 (120 watt class) LEDs into the DLP engine that is the basis for VDC's LED DLP offerings. I have seen the prototypes. They were not provided by the
OEM of the DLP engine.
VDC DOES provide "specially branded versions" of this projector to other companies. Scott said so, directly to me. And I have SEEN
an example in Scott's lab.
It is a sequential RGB (Strobed, not actually "modulated" system as modulation would imply grey scale modulation instead of on-off strobing) single chip DLP system without a color wheel. The strobe rate is (I think) 5x the frame rate. In the motion blur elimination
mode, which is HIGHLY effective as I've seen it, I believe that the strobe rate is even faster but at a slight cost in light output.
You know, many companies have used DLP engines from TI (and other sources) in their own projectors since the very beginning of
DLP technology. The first and second generation DLP engines were used by no less than this list of companies:
Digital Projection
AmPro
Christie Digital
Barco
Electrohome
Today, the list is much longer:
3M - DLP Projectors - Manufacturer 3M www.3m.co.uk
Acer - DLP Projectors - Manufacturer Acer www.acer.co.uk
Barco - DLP Projectors - Manufacturer Barco www.barco.com
BenQ - DLP Projectors - Manufacturer BenQ www.benq.co.uk
Casio - DLP Projectors - Manufacturer Casio www.casio.co.uk
Christie - DLP Projectors - Manufacturer Christie www.christiedigital.co.uk
Dell - DLP Projectors - Manufacturer Dell www.dell.co.uk
Digital Projection - DLP Projectors - Manufacturer Digital Projection www.digitalprojection.com
InFocus - DLP Projectors - Manufacturer InFocus www.infocus.com
LG Electronics - DLP Projectors - Manufacturer LG Electronics www.lge.com/
Mitsubishi Electric - DLP Projectors - Manufacturer Mitsubishi Electric www.mitsubishi.com
NEC - DLP Projectors - Manufacturer NEC www.neceurope.com
Optoma - DLP Projectors - Manufacturer Optoma www.optoma.co.uk
Panasonic - DLP Projectors - Manufacturer Panasonic www.panasonic.co.uk
Projectiondesign - DLP Projectors - Manufacturer Projectiondesign www.projectiondesign.com
Samsung - DLP Projectors - Manufacturer Samsung www.samsung.com/uk/
Sharp - DLP Projectors - Manufacturer Sharp www.sharp.co.uk
Sim2 - DLP Projectors - Manufacturer Sim2 www.sim2.com
Toshiba - DLP Projectors - Manufacturer Toshiba www.toshiba.co.uk/
ViewSonic - DLP Projectors - Manufacturer
These are the ones listed on the TI website as partners.
There are OTHER DLP engine manufacturers which may have their OWN lists of partners not on TI's partner list,
which is something I'm not sure of. But I tend to think I'm right as VDC isn't on that list and isn't using a TI-sourced engine.

I still say you should have another conversation with him. I did yesterday. This statement is incorrect. I know the prototype your talking about and what he was trying to accomplish. But again, I'm not commenting any further since he is not getting involved here either.

This is partially correct but for reasons other then you are implying.
It is a sequential RGB (Strobed, not actually "modulated" system as modulation would imply grey scale modulation instead of on-off strobing) single chip DLP system without a color wheel. This is already well known. The strobe rate is (I think) 5x the frame rate. In the motion blur elimination
mode, which is HIGHLY effective as I've seen it, I believe that the strobe rate is even faster but at a slight cost in light output.
Yes its effective and I saw it myself also but again, you need to talk with him again as there are slight errors here too. Maybe you should just let him talk about it if he so chooses.

You will make no new friends by calling me wrong on a public forum when PMs are available to you. I consider that be rude and offensive and would not do it to you.

I have no reason what so ever to "want" to tell anyone they are wrong. However, if someone posts something that is incorrect on a forum where others come to learn and possibly make decisions or purchases based on information here, and that information is possibly incorrect, then I am going to correct it. If I am then shown to be incorrect then I will state so. My only aim here is to try and keep as much info on this site correct as possible.
But, I had no intentions of hurting your feelings nor any desire to do so.
If you would like, go back and delete all your posts here and I will delete all mine and I would gladly have a pleasant and friendly PM conversation with you.

My feelings aren't hurt. I see no reason to edit the past, either.
But you might try PMs next time if for no other reason than schooling me in such a manner is kind of off-topic.
I guess by rights even this message should be a PM, shouldn't it?
