I'm curious if there is a super secret code.. way to set the overscan on this T.V. It is losing about 10% due to the overscan in all modes, with upscaled DVD 720p or 1080i. And with standard broadcast whatever the hell else Charter Cable brodcasts in.
Peoples faces are cut off by the width and station logo's are chopped off too.
Any hope for this, or, That's just the nature of this T.V.?

Ahhh a slim fit. I wanted one of those or the LG version.
You need to go into the service menu to make the adjustments.
Turn it off, press mute-1-8-2, one after another, and then turn it back on.
Write down all settings and if you don't know what it does don't touch it. Or do touch it and remember exactly what your key presses are. I managed to blank the screen on my Toshiba here with two key presses. I had to back track blind to get a picture back.
That being said I tweaked the hell out of my 1999 Samsung flat CRT with the built in line doubler. It got it to at least 95%

Mac, last Year that would have scared the crap out of me.
But GOZER prepared me for this.
There is a lot of stuff in here and boy, oh, boy, be careful but not much harder than then the Marquee, just more detailed, well more detailed the the Marquee 0901 service menu, the supersecret menu... I haven't even touched.
Oh and thanks for the charts, they are really helpful
EDIT: Yeah Baby, Success Picture is overscaned about 3% now.
And I made some other adjustments and text is now easier to read too. Gamma is also done.
Mac, A/R Thanks again

I need proper Service Menu Deflection values for my TXT3093WH. I've been tryin to fix the geometry for more than a year since my friend messed mine up. I've got the service manual, changed the values according to my version 32Z40 and the geometry in defleciton is still off. *sigh* I dont know what to do anymore. Please if anyone can help me by telling me their Deflection values. Please help!

I'd be happy to share what mine are but, they will be of little use as each set will act differently and the "values" don't mean much in and of themselves.
You are going to need a test pattern disc like Get Gray from Calman, or DVE, to have a reference for your sets overscan.
Check back in and we'll try to help you out.

Get your friend to pay a tech to set them correctly.
dturco is right though, there's no one set of values that will correct this. You really do need a tech with a pattern generator to set the convergence correctly. FRom my little experience with RP sets, some of those are more of a science to get right than front projectors.

I dont have time right now but later I will look it this. i think I saw in the manual that the tv has a built in pattern for setting up geometry. There may also be a factory reset. I'll know better later.

Well I looked over the service manual and I have to say that I'm not comfortable giving recommendations on what you should do. You say you have the service manual and from what I see the manual clearly shows what to adjust for the part of geometry you are trying to correct. If you can't understand what the manual is showing then I dont believe I can explain it any better. Are you displaying a test grid when you are trying to correct your geometry. If not then you will never get it corrected. The manual does show a couple selections for test patterns but isn't clear on what pattern is shown when selected. You would have to try them to see.
I also see a user reset but again the manual is not clear on just what this resets. It may just reset user controls. But I am NOT going to recommend trying something that I'm not clear on just what it does. You could make your set even worse by experimenting.
A training manual would probably be required to know just what is for what or an experienced tech who knows how to get out of a situation if one does occur.
If you cant find an internal grid pattern then you could get a DVD that displays one and you should be able to get your geometry set pretty well then.
Dont be afraid to ask question though. I'll help if I can on specific questions. If you can get a grid pattern on there and take a picture of it and post it here then I can better help. Good luck.

I saw in the service manual around the last steps it says to display a Lion Head pattern to adjust H-amp, H-shift, V-amp, V-shift then a hatch pattern but i've got NO idea how the hell to display them. I realized i can adjust lines on Local Correction. This helps alot cuz now im able to adjust the curvy edges that were all messed up. so at least im getting somewhere. If anyone knows how to display the lion head and hatch patterns on this set let me know and thanks for the advice on the pattern discs!

If you look in the manual under DHC control 1, 18 and 19 it talks about patterns and also option, 11. You would have to try them to see what they do though.
I believe DHC control 1, number 18 turns on the patterns and DHC control 1, 19 cycles through the patterns to select different ones.
