Hi all, I have had enough of this monster on my floor so I am going to finally ceiling mount it, I have been reading all the stuff on mounting projectors accross all the sites still a little worried though! I am going the unistrut way cheaper and I have no access to the mounting system anyway that originally came with it. The major problem I am having is how do I connect the projector to its strut I can see how one strut connects to another but with the ampro how do you connect the pj to the strut? There are screw holes under the ampro but I am not sure what size bolts/screws/rods should go in there and how much disance it would add to the drop from the ceiling. Any advice?

Curt probably has a factory mount for it for a decent price. The bolt pattern really doesn't lend it's self to a unistrut mount. Not saying it couldn't be done but it would be ugly. So unless you're handy with a metal shop-saw and welding machine, I'd start looking for a factory mount.

I would really prefer the unistrut though, I know you do not like that option as you prefer the projector mounts but the strut gives me the ability to move the pj where I want it to be. Thanks for the suggestion though.

This was Curts answer for me for future reference for anyone wanting to mount one of these and not knowing how!
You pretty much have it, the threaded inserts inside the case are part of the chassis, any redi-rod, bolts or whatever simply thread into those and the mount/Unistrut bolts to those.
Cheers!
Thanks again Curt.

Be as quiet as you can so you don't spook it and wear a kilt as the sound of a zipper may make 'er bolt!

No they more leave your head reeling and you wondering what went wrong. Like getting a 170lb projector to the top of the head

The same can be said for a 170lb girl on top of your head.

Has anyone told INCOVA what size bolts to use. You know thread size and count?
Are Ampros like the Marquees 3/8" 16 tpi?

No sir, no one has told me bolt sizes etc they are waiting for me to put it up then watch it fall as I discover that I used the wrong size bolts to attatch the pj to the strut!
That Magna Lift™ Electric Ceiling Mount looks brilliant.

I am going to check a few sizes out to see what fits, then I will post my plans so people can tell me where I might be going wrong.

I wish I knew what size they were, but I have never seen one. I would be willing to bet that they are English thread and not Metric though.
I'm guessing but 3/8 16 tpi is where I'd start. TPI= Threards Per Inch
Best of luck

The service manual calls for 5/16 x 18 x 1" bolts to attach ceiling mount to projector.
