The Messenger [Blu-ray] (2010)

The acclaimed war drama nominated for two Academy Awards will be delivered on Blu-ray this May.

Oscilloscope Pictures says Oren Moverman's 'The Messenger,' starring Woody Harrelson, Ben Foster, and Jena Malone, is coming to high-definition on May 18.

The Blu-ray will feature 1080p video, likely a lossless soundtrack, and supplements will include: Cast and crew commentary, Behind-the-scenes footage, Documentary about the notification process, Q&A with the cast and crew, and a copy of the shooting script.

Plot Synopsis: U.S. Army officer Will Montgomery has just returned home from a tour in Iraq and is assigned to the Army's Casualty Notification service. Partnered with fellow officer Tony Stone to bear the bad news to the loved ones of fallen soldiers, Will faces the challenge of completing his mission while seeking to find comfort and healing back on the home front. When he finds himself drawn to Olivia, to whom he has just delivered the news of her husband's death, Will's emotional detachment begins to dissolve and the film reveals itself as a surprising, humorous, moving and very human portrait of grief, friendship and survival.
