Has anyone ever heard a side by side comparison of the RF-83's and the RF-63's ?
The only decent home theater/audio shop in the area is about an hour away an they just sold out of their last set of RF-83's. But, I really like the things of heard and read. I really like the looks as well. But at almost a grand difference in price, I really want to hear from the trusted experts here. Laughing

Thanks
Dave

I have a pair of RF-63's in my theatre, along with the matching RC-64 center channel. I auditioned the RF-83's as well and I liked the RF-63's better for my application. There isn't a matching center channel speaker for the RF-83 and using the RC-64 with the 83's doesn't provide a seamless transition across the front. The transition across the sound stage from left to center to right is seamless with the 63's.

I'm far from an audio expert but if your application is home theatre, I think you would prefer the 63's matched with the RC-64 center.

Chris.

Thank you, Chris. That's a VERY good point. I am impressed with the RC-64 and am considering it as the next speaker upgrade. AND with the money saved from buying the 63's instead of the 83's , that upgrade will be much much sooner. Thank you very much, I think you helped me spend even more money.....now I'm looking at 3 speakers. Oh well, at least they'll match...sonically and cosmetically. Wich will also fit better with the RS-62, wich are also on the list. But what about rear surrounds?

Thanks for the help,
Dave
