Hi all, newbie to the forum here, I'm hoping someone will be able to help me with my questions

I recently purchased a Faroudja VP 400 that had been removed from a super yacht for $10, apparently it is in good working order...

I would like to use this to upscale old VHS tapes

I have tried scanning the internet but haven't be able to find any manuals or other info on this unit. I think it is a '95 model. I have two questions;

1. I know it outputs a "quadrupled" RGB HV (2100 lines 64Khz I believe) but I dont know what that means in terms of the type of monitor that would accept that signal, would a modern 1080i HDTV that has a RGB 15 pin D-sub connector be able to display the output?

2. I am also interested in capturing the upscaled output and would appreciate any recommendations on a PC frame grabber / video capture device that could accept the output from the VP 400

thanks!

You need something that will do 1024p, or about 64Khz. Most of the older monitors will only do up to 768p or so.
