can i delete all the input settings on my 6pg xtra, shut it down, turn back on connected to a 4:3 source and start over to set-up raster, image settings, etc. ?

Can't you just delete all memory blocks with an NEC like with Barcos ?

In my experience, yes, you can do that without issue. Doug Baisey used to caution against things like that because a factory set NEC had factory setup lines stored which other memories would be built on, BUT, some NEC's I'd had, had been so screwed up, they wouldn't really do anything properly till I got rid of all the screwed up previously stored memories...

So, do it with caution, I've had some success doing it, but there is reason for caution...

I've done an Eeprom Init too in order to just wipe the whole memory, it solved the issue I was having without wrecking the projector, but it was a risk I was willing to take as the projector wasn't working properly anyway and if the Eeprom Init didn't fix it, it wouldn't have been any worse off...

Actually a fairly predectable result when the subject is 'can I?' and nothing more specific Smile You get a lot of looks simply out of curiosity.

For the NEC, I'm pretty sure you also need to create a 'Default' memory that has all the settings set to their mid position. To accomplish that you need create an input or use an existing input and change all settings to mid, save it as the default input, then delete the input (and all others) from the input list.

When I was in LA on October, no one had heard from him in months. I'll give him a call tomorrow to see if his number is still active.

No, not like a Barco at all really...

What you can do is do a new Signal Entry, choose "Temporary" as the initial data, finish it out, save it, then go to the top menu line for each aspect of the new entry and do a CTL+Normal, choose Cancel and confirm that. If you do it for Alignment, Convergence, Focus, Picture you will reset ALL aspects of that new memory to null, which in the case of an NEC is the "0" setting. Its a good way to start from scratch. On Xtra's and XG's I usually null out everything line by line so I don't have to reset the Phase or Line Distortion if those aspects look good. I find setting those things up quite difficult to get looking good...
